Sunday 31 January - FIRST SILVERWARE OF THE YEAR

B & H under-16s won the Sussex Winter Indoor Cricket League Cup on Sunday 31st January 2010. They defeated Sussex Girls Under-16 convincingly in the semi-final, after a run of six league games without defeat and then went on to beat Horsham in the final. A score of 168 proved far too good for a strong Horsham team, and some excellent fielding and bowling restricted them to a score of 114 all out.

As ever, it was a superb team effort. Everyone contributed with either bat, ball or hands, and the squad of Eswar Kalidasan, Simon Hetherton, Nikhil Patel, Dan McDonnell, George Machan, Ryan Pook and Yass Behemou again showed the value of team spirit and positive attitudes as well as considerable cricketing skills. Andy Elphick managed the team brilliantly, aided and abetted by the organisational skills of Rose Hetherton, his assistant. This bodes well for the summer season and congratulations are due to all the team and to the many supporters who consistently delayed their Sunday roasts. That's commitment for you!
